Purple Ocean Superfood Bar BTS
This was a super fun day shooting some great food that we’ve all been fans of for years now. Purple Ocean is a local açaí spot here in Orlando - their brand is leans heavy into beach culture and health so when we first started coming up with the concept, we knew that it had to be colorful like fruit and feel carefree like the beach.
The studio looks were shot on a Freefly Wave which is an ultra slow motion camera. We used it on a turntable to get some cool movement of their food in motion. After the studio, we heading out to one of their locations to shoot the lifestyle scenes of people enjoying the food.
We used a few cool camera mounting techniques to get some unique angles. Aside from using a steadicam to get smooth movement, we also used an arm to attach the camera to a spoon which gave us a pretty cool and wild perspective as our model went in to take a bit of her food. We also used a jib to get an overhead shot of all the food as the models reach in to eat.
